I’m wondering if the festive season is causing a drop in viewers, it’s making me worried!

Style of the Day!
Updates!
I’m really grateful for all the views I’ve received so far, as they increasing day by day!
I have put a lot of time into this blog so it’s really great to see it flourish and grow more day by day.
With 2014 just round the corner, I’ll be 16 soon and expected to spend more time in my studies.
So from 2014 onwards, I’ll most likely have time to only do 3 posts a week. I really hope you’ll subscribe to this blog and get notifications to when I have a new post.
Though this is “My Beauty Discovery”, I’ll also be adding random posts about my life and practical issues, starting from 2014.
I’ll be changing my lay out soon as well, it’s getting a little boring for me.
So… I think that’s all you need to know, and thank you for all the support so far!
Hayley Williams (That’s What You Get)
If you didn’t know, I recently got a hair cut and I think my hair truly resembles (just slightly shorter) the style Hayley had in the music video of That’s What You Get.
With this haircut, I’ve realised that it’s pretty hard to get a good look because it isn’t as girly as a pixie cut and I’m still not too sure as to what I should do about my face to look better.
I really liked her look in that video because it was pretty natural with a slight rocker / edgy twist.
(The video quality wasn’t that good, so I’m sorry there won’t be any pictures of her!)
CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation.
This has a powder finish so it’s something we’re going for because she has a very matte skin in the video.
You can use your own foundation but if it gives a dewy finish, be sure to use some sort of powder to mattify it.
Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil.
She has pretty defined brows, which are thicker towards the centre of the face and thinner at the outer.
Wet n Wild Eyeshdow Trio in Silent Treatment.
Her shadow action in the video was very minimal, so a sweep of the eyelid color from the trio would be enough to complete the look!
Maybelline Gel Eyeliner.
This eyeliner has been raved about and a much cheaper alternative for the Bobbi Brown gel liner which has gained much fame among all the beauty gurus.
(credits : http://www.carmenhong.com/2012/11/how-to-winged-eye-liner.html
We’re going for that style of winged eyeliner that is winged, but nothing over the top and too dramatic.
This practically completes the whole look because she has a very very neutral lip color. But if you’re not comfortable without any lip product, here’s an option.
Prestige Lip Liner in Nude.
Just apply this all over your lips for a natural lip color.
Alright! That’s all I have for today, stay tuned for my next post!

Christmas! | Blogmas Day 25.
As you can probably tell… I failed in blogmas. Oh well, I should’ve known better and pre-written some posts to put up when I was too busy in camp!
At least now I know, I’ll try to do better next year!
It’s pretty freaky to think how 2014 is coming so soon. I’m not ready yet.
Next year will be pretty pressurizing and I choose not to think about it.
Christmas for me this year has been fun. I managed to spend the first few moments of Christmas with my friends who are growing closer and closer day by day.
Christmas lunch with the family was pretty good! Though I’ve noticed how we’re all grown up. No more excitement over presents, everyone was asleep at one point and too caught up in their phones.
We had quite a spread, not as fancy as when my aunt was here, though.
Quite a pity that I had too much chocolates and sweets before lunch, I could barely finish my plate of food.
Some snippets of my day :
(Those cupcakes were amazing. They’re from http://www.plainvanillabakery.com )
How could we not have turkey.
A Christmas present!
Here’s to the end of blogmas and me trying to keep up with the dates though they’re gone.
My everyday makeup routine. | Blogmas Day 18.
I had absolutely no idea what to post next, so here’s an everyday makeup routine that I think is really natural and useful for beginners.
Above, is how I’d apply the items to my face in order.
First, I’d start off by covering all the imperfections and dark circles with my Maybelline Waterproof Stick Concealer.
Then I’d fill my brows in with Maybelline Define-A-Brow, only at the areas where lacks brow hair.
Right below, I’ll use Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Trio in Walking On Eggshells and apply it on my lid and crease.
Followed by Wet n Wild’s Megalast Retractable Eyeliner in Blackest Black. If you want a more natural look, try brown instead.
CoverGirl’s Clump Crusher is beginning to tickle my fancy again, just because it’s waterproof and I’ve been going out a lot and I don’t want mascara to end up below my eyes.
Nars’ Orgasm Blush is perfect for giving me that healthy, youthful glow. My favorite blusher that’s for sure!
Last but not least, Urban Decay’s Lip Stain in Envious. This is suitable for an everyday look because it isn’t too dark or light. Also, I don’t have to reapply it every now and then, so it’s awesome!
That’s all I have for today, stay tuned for more!

Eve Lom Rescue Mask Review. | Blogmas Day 17.
This mask claims to : deep cleanse without drying, gently decongest pores and absorb excess oil, smooths and conditions the skin’s surface calming redness and irritation and leaving you refreshed.
Of course, we all know how those statements written by companies tend to be false. But boy, oh boy. This is amazing.
When I first put it on, it stung my eye a little and I did not even put it near my eye! So I had my right eye closed during the whole process. Heh.
The texture was pretty thick and there were random “balls” in them and I just slather it all over my face and waited for 20 minutes.
As it dried, it would tighten as well and at the end, my face was so tight, I couldn’t do any facial expressions.
Once I’ve washed it off and all, voila. No more dry patches. My skin was so much softer and I could not find any dry patches that was almost everywhere.
I would totally buy the full sized product, which would be so useful for those important days (New Years, Christmas, Birthday) where I want to look good.
Love it!

Current favorites. | Blogmas Day 16.
I really ran out of brain juice and I can’t think of anything to post. So here’s something small and I’m gonna tell you what my current favorites are!
Or maybe, Christmas favorites.
Maybelline Define-A-Brow in Medium Brown.
Perfect for filling my brows in, as I feel that they can be pretty sparse in the front and end. I have the tendency to over draw them and they end up looking like caterpillars on my head.
Not cool.
But! With a light hand and the right amount, it’ll look pretty natural and normal.
Anastasia Brow Pen in Universal Light.
I have natural dark hair, so this doesn’t work as well. However, I got it in a set off eBay so I’m just trying to work it.
It is a felt tip marker and is really easy for application! If I had it in universal deep, it’d be fighting a spot with the Maybelline Define-A-Brow.
Maybelline Cover Stick Waterproof Concealer in Light Beige.
For those days where I don’t have enough sleep or when the hormones start kicking in and gives me zits, this is super handy.
It doesn’t crease as well so more brownie points is given, plus it is waterproof, perfect for the ridiculously humid weather in Singapore.
Urban Decay Blush in Fetish.
I think it’s discontinued because I can’t find it on their website.
It’s a pretty purple mauve that’s amazing for Christmas! It gives me a very festive feel.
It is really pigmented. 2 dips of a brush into it and a hard tap is enough already.
I won’t recommend swirling your brush around, just because it’s pretty small and it’ll be too much.
Urban Decay Lip Stain in Envious.
This too, is discontinued and it came in the set, same as the one together with the Anastasia brow pen.
I’m glad to have gotten the 2 shades available (Greedy as well.) before they were discontinued.
This is a pretty “my lips but better (MLBB)” shade with a pink tone to it.
I’ve been using this quite frequently and it stains (duh) so it’s easy for me because I don’t have to re-apply.
However the downside is the taste. Kinda bitter.
Urban Decay Lipstick in Jilted.
Sadly, another discontinued one! This came in the same set and I love this lipstick.
It’s super creamy, smooth and pigmented. However I don’t use such a dark shade everyday so I’m figuring out when or how to make this wearable.
Perfect for those cool, grungy Instagram shots.
Speaking of Instagram, y’all should follow me @ WhimsicalMess!
Alright, that’s all I have for my current Christmas / Festive favorites. Hope you’ve enjoyed the post and here’s to me rushing to finish the rest of vlogmas.

Holiday Makeup! (Drugstore)| Blogmas Day 15.
I figured that I should do a makeup look, because the last one was written a pretty long time ago.
Here are some of my recommended items that you can use to construct your look!
(Click the product name for the link to where you can buy it.)
Foundation.
They come in different formulations that suit different skin types!
Maybelline Fit Me! Shine Free Foundation.
CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation.
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Foundation.
EYEBROWS.
I think that the holiday season requires full eyebrows!
Remember to choose a product that’s a shade lighter than the hair on your head!
Maybelline Define-A-Brow Eyebrow Pencil.
EYESHADOW.
There’ll be a glam side & a neutral side!
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk. (glam)
Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Trio in Knock On Wood. (glam)
Maybelline Eyestudio Eyeshadow Quad in Legendary Lilac. (glam)
Rimmel Glam’ Eyes Eye Shadow Quad in Diamond Jubilee. (neutral)
Maybelline ExpertWear Eyeshadow Quad in Lavender Lights. (neutral)
Maybelline EyeStudio Eyeshadow in Pink Punch. (neutral)
CHEEKS.
I think it’s best for your lips or eyes to stand out, so blush should be toned down. You don’t have to use this if you don’t want to, because you might have a natural flush from the weather.
L’Oreal True Match Blush in Tender Rose.
Boots No7 Natural Blush Tint Powder in Soft Damson.
L’Oreal Blush in Rose Gold Lift.
I wouldn’t recommend bronzer just because it’s a little odd to have a sun-kissed glow during the winter season. However, do what you like and apply bronzer of your choice!
LIPS.
Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue in Berry Soft. (neutral)
Maybelline ColorSensational Lip Color in Celestial Coral. (neutral)
CoverGirl Natureluxe Gloss Balm in Sandstone. (neutral)
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Raspberry Bite. (glam)
L’Oreal Color Riche Caresse Lipstick in Cherry Tulle. (glam)
Almay Liquid Lip Balm in Just Plum Good. (glam)
ALRIGHT! That’s all I have for this post. Do remember not to mix both glam eyes and glam lips together because it’ll be too much.
Hope you’ve enjoyed it and here’s to me completing my missed blogmas days.
