So recently a reader has requested for a “tutorial” on the hairstyles that girls on tumblr have, after reading my other 2 tumblr-related posts, which you can find here. and here.
So, if you’re interested in getting a tumblr girl hairstyle, keep on reading!

First off, there are a few categories of girls with different kinds of hairstyles.
The ballerina sock bun.
Surfer Girl beach waves.
Classic Ombre Hair.
Scene Girl.
All natural hair.
So now that we’ve categorized the different hairstyles, it’s time to get to the “how to”
BEFORE YOU START.
All tumblr girls have long, healthy hair so if you’re lacking in that department, try some hair masks or hair care products.

If you want a messy look, lightly run your fingers through your hair, let the sides of your hair fall and the bottom at the back.
Finish off with hairspray!

SURFER GIRL BEACH WAVES.
This is especially useful for those summer days, where you want to seem as though you’ve been surfing, or spending time at the beach. (When we all know you’ve been in bed with internet and pizza.)

See? It’s really easy to get beachy waves without having to be outdoors at all!
CLASSIC OMBRE HAIR.
This is a rather pretty look, that can go well with ANY outfit.
At one point in time, this look was everywhere and it still might be. However, sadly, not everyone can create this look.
Fails like these have been pretty common as ombre hair gained its popularity.

SCENE GIRLS.
Scene girls tend to have a distinct fringe and colored hair.
The volume they get is from teasing the hair.

Splat has a good range of funky colors as well.
For hair waves that look like they’re barely there, try curling your hair the night before, so when you wake up, you’ll get a more natural look!
You can also try a curl defining hair product!
ALL NATURAL HAIR.
Of course, when we say “all natural” they’re definitely not natural. Unless they’ve been blessed with amazing hair.
For the wavy / curly hair that looks natural, try a curling iron.

I can’t find a link for the USA, so if you see something like this, get it!
Not Your Mother’s Frizz Control Hair Cream.
Try a frizz control or ani frizz product as to smooth out any frizzes in your hair! Remember, frizzy hair is not chic and tumblr at all.
If you don’t have long luscious hair like most of the tumblr girls do, try hair extensions!
